Most small fast food restaurants don’t need a full delivery platform. They need a clean menu, a way to take orders, and zero commissions eating into their margin.
This project is a React-based ordering website built for a fast food restaurant. Customers browse the menu, build their order, and send it directly to the restaurant’s WhatsApp — no account creation, no payment gateway, no middleman.
The restaurant receives a formatted order message and handles the rest the way they always have. The website just replaces the phone call.
The problem it solves
Listing on Uber Eats or a local delivery app costs between 15% and 30% per order. For a small fast food with tight margins, that’s unsustainable.
But the alternative — taking orders by phone — breaks down at rush hour. Calls get missed. Orders get mixed up. Customers give up.
The gap: a simple online presence where customers can order clearly, and the restaurant receives that order instantly, with no platform taking a cut.
How the ordering flow works
1. Browse the menu The customer lands on the site and sees the full menu — organized by category, with photos and prices. Clean, fast, mobile-first.
2. Build the order They add items to their cart, choose quantities, and see the running total update in real time.
3. Place the order via WhatsApp When they’re ready, they tap “Order on WhatsApp.” The site generates a pre-formatted message — item names, quantities, total — and opens WhatsApp with the restaurant’s number pre-loaded.
4. The restaurant receives it The kitchen gets a clear, structured message. No noise. No missed calls. They confirm and prepare.
